How to Be Holy
Peter Kreeft
Holiness is for everyone. We are all called to know, love, and serve God in our own unique way. It is why we were created and what we should strive for in every moment of our day. The great 19th century French philosopher and writer Leon Bloy famously quipped that, “life, in the end, has only one tragedy, not to have been a saint.” Holiness, therefore, is the meaning of life. If we are trying to get to heaven, there is but one path and, apparently, it is narrow. The road to heaven is the road of self-denial and self-gift: it is the life of a saint, a life of holiness.
